I just attended a 5 day, 6 hours a day intensive life drawing workshop. These are a few images of my drawings - sorry, I didn't get organized and photograph any of the quick poses. These range from 20- about 40 minute drawings. The ones in ink are done with a long broken wooden dowel dipped into a pot of ink, so the control is not exact and the medium is very unforgiving. I had a wonderful time, and feel fired up and ready to participate in our first ever Life Drawing Exhibition - " Body of Work" - at Portals Gallery, opening September 27. My co- exhibitors are my two very dear friends, and very brilliant artists, Sharron Campbell and Kaye Smillie.
I am an artist and writer living in the beautiful Cowichan Valley,
on Vancouver Island. For six years I cared for my wonderful husband,
diagnosed very young with dementia. He declined and left me, piece by
piece. The blog, updates on ron, documented this remarkable journey. It
was a journey for me too, I discovered a passion for writing. I am
working on a book about my experience- Passages - A Wife's Confessional.
For many years, I have not had a husband, he was as a child to me. It's
now time for laughter, conversation and adventure, missing for too
long. Join me as I navigate the waters of internet dating in the late
summer of my life. This new blog is witty and distracting and light.
Just what I need. Thanks for reading. If I brought a wry smile to your
lips, do please share the link to others who would appreciate laughter.
